The Shan chana masala is a spice mix to you can use to prepare either chickpea curry or chana cholay chaat. Both recipes are given on the box of the Shana chana masala and although the recipe is fairly simple, it does require a lot of time to boil the chickpeas until they are at the right consistency and are soft enough to eat. You can also use the Shan chana masala with your own recipe to prepare the dish to your taste. With a taste as flavorful and aromatic as if you had prepared the dish with freshly ground spices, the Shan chana masala is a great convenience for anyone looking to prepare chickpea curry.

Chana Cholay

Preparation Cooking Serving

Ingredients

Chickpeas 1 cup
Onion 1 small (sliced)
Ghee/butter/oil 1 cup
Shan Chana Cholay Masala 3 tbsp (leveld)

Method
1. Clean chickpeas and soak for 2-3 hours.
2. Drain water. Take 5 glasses water in a pan and boil chickpeas on slow heat for 2-3 hours.
3. Add shan chana cholay masala and stir for a few minutes.
4. Then boil on slow heat for 45 minutes or until chickpeas turn into dark color.
5. Fry onion in ghee/butter/oil until golden then add cooked chickpeas in it.
6. Cook for 10-15 minutes or till ghee/butter/oil separates.
7. Sprinkle sliced green chillies and lemon juice and serve with pori paratha and naan.

About the product:

As the name suggests, Karahi (Kadai) Chicken is prepared in the Indian wok known as ‘karahi’ in Hindi. The MDH Karahi Chicken Masala has just the right balance of spices so you can give this North Indian and Pakistani specialty the perfect, authentic taste. Karahi Chicken is prepared with paprika and has a thick gravy that goes well with naan, roti or rice.

MDH Recipe: Karahi Chicken Serves 2-3 Method 1. In a deep heavy base pan heat 60g cooking oil and fry 150g chopped onions till translucent. 2. Add 500g chicken pieces and 10-15g Karahi Chicken Masala. Fry for 10 minutes till tender. 3. Add two cups of water and cover. Cook for 20 minutes till they are soft and tender. 4. Let 1/2 cup stock remain. Then add 30g capsicum slices and 60g tomato. Stir and fry for 5 minutes. 5. Sprinkle crushed Kasoori Methi and lemon juice.
