Chicken Masala

Preparation Cooking Serving

Ingredients
Chicken 1-1 ½ kg (small cutting)
Onion medium 5 (thinly sliced)
Yogurt 1 ½ cups
Garlic paste ½ tbsp
Ginger 1 ½ tbsp (sliced)
Ghee/oil 1 ½ cups
Shan Murghi Masala 1 packet

Method
1. Heat oil/ghee in a pan and fry onion on high heat until transparent.
2. Move spoon continuously.
3. Then reduce heat and fry until light golden.
4. Take out onion on paper and let it cool then crush it with hands.
5. In same oil sauté garlic then add chicken, yogurt, ginger and shan murghi masala.
6. Cover and cook on slow flame until chicken cooked.
7. Add 1-2 cups water if required.
8. Add crushed onion, cover and cook for 5 minutes until oil separates.
9. Serve qorma with taftan, roti or naan.
10. Note: Don’t use burnt onion.
11. Don’t use sour yogurt.

About the product:

As the name suggests, Karahi (Kadai) Chicken is prepared in the Indian wok known as ‘karahi’ in Hindi. The MDH Karahi Chicken Masala has just the right balance of spices so you can give this North Indian and Pakistani specialty the perfect, authentic taste. Karahi Chicken is prepared with paprika and has a thick gravy that goes well with naan, roti or rice.

MDH Recipe: Karahi Chicken Serves 2-3 Method 1. In a deep heavy base pan heat 60g cooking oil and fry 150g chopped onions till translucent. 2. Add 500g chicken pieces and 10-15g Karahi Chicken Masala. Fry for 10 minutes till tender. 3. Add two cups of water and cover. Cook for 20 minutes till they are soft and tender. 4. Let 1/2 cup stock remain. Then add 30g capsicum slices and 60g tomato. Stir and fry for 5 minutes. 5. Sprinkle crushed Kasoori Methi and lemon juice.

About the product:

The MDH Kitchen King Masala, as the name suggests, is the king of all spices. It is a blend of the basic and important spices required in cooking. It can be sprinkled on or added to any sabji or curry to give it a strong, spicy flavour. It is used in Punjabi sabjis, biryani etc.

Recipe: Potatoes, Peas & Cheese - Cut 200g. Cheese (Cottage) into ½ inch cubes and fry them in ghee/oil till golden brwon. - Separately saute 2 chopped onions till golden in half cup ghee/oil. - Add 2 chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes. - Add salt to taste, ½ tspn. Deggi Mirch 3 tspn. Kitchen King and cook for 3 minutes. - Add 4 peeled potatoes, cut lengthwise, and half cup full of peas. Stir for 3 minutes. - Add cheese cubes and simmer further for 5 minutes till the potatoes are tender. - Sprinkle a pinch of Kasoori Methi leaves, stir and serve.
