- Vegetable oil or ghee, for cooking
Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add the onions and cook until they’re translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the ginger and garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Add the cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper (if using) and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add the tomato puree, chickpeas, and 1 cup of water. Stir well to combine.
